An update on my spin off Constructing Confidence. ~ Liana -
Constructing Confidence

Hi there,

It’s been a little while. We set up this platform for Constructing Confidence so you could access the first in our series of tools to thrive, The Positivity Toolbox. It was an experiment of sorts, a new distribution channel for our workbook. We hope you enjoyed it and thank you for being an early supporter. However, our goal is to make the Constructing Confidence tools accessible to as broad an audience as we can find: Schools and educators! We had to step back and work on enabling access for all kids, educators, and families. And we are a tiny operation, bootstrapping it with big goals. So we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Robin, an organization that teaches students skills to connect with others, build healthy relationships, and improve mental health.

Wait, remind me what this is all about

Ok, well we are here to construct *confidence.* And we dug deep into the research that tells us that “happiness” is a key element of confidence. Maybe not the common definition of happiness, we aren’t about forced smiles or fake positivity. We are human. Much of the time we may not feel “happy,” but we can still feel good about ourselves and our wellbeing...

we want to help people of all ages to feel

✨resilient

✨strong

✨productive &

✨ confident

And we want to teach this to our kids, students & really, everyone. Which is why we created Constructing Confidence.

What research?

Dr. Sonia Lyubomirsky is a social psychologist whose research culminated in her thesis that states that we can increase and sustain our happiness through intentional activities. Her work added to decades of research in positive psychology and she emphasized that “Happiness” can be built through fostering intentional behaviors.

🧡 We think this is HUGE!

And she shares the elements that *work together* to create

✨positivity

✨confidence

✨resilience

Positivity is a science-backed tool we can develop and lean into. When we experience positive emotions, we’re better problem-solvers, we make better decisions, and we’re able to be more resilient and maintain our self-confidence.

While many people may believe that happiness is determined by personality and that we have little control over how happy we are, positive psychology research reveals that only 50% of happiness is determined by personality. Life circumstances account for 10%, leaving 40% within our control!

We can engage in intentional activity to influence our well-being!

The Happiness Formula

So spread the word about Robin for schools and check out our book for parents to bring it all home! We can all use some positivity now.

Thank you

🧡Liana
